This Online Bible Study is all about Paul’s Letter of Joy, also known as the Book of Philippians. I know that I can always count on the Book of Philippians to reset my heart, mind, and soul when I need a little joy boost!
Note: All of the studies in The Good Enough Shop were once “Live Studies,” meaning our Online Bible Study Community met in a private Facebook group and live weekly Zoom Bible Study meetings. If you’d like to join us, click here to learn more about our Online Bible Study Community.
Why Study the Bible?
I know, and please don’t feel bad for asking that question through tired eyes, an exhausted voice, and a back carrying all the burdens in this world. I get it. Studying the Bible not only feels like one more thing, but it is also literally one.more.thing.
But I also know there was a time in my life where, if I would not have found a Biblical counselor and started studying my Bible–learning how to use the Word of God as a weapon in my spiritual toolbox, as well as in my mental and emotional toolbox…I don’t know that I would be here today. I definitely wouldn’t be here today like this.
You can read more of that story here, The Truth About Me and Bible Quotes.
Why a Philippians Online Bible Study?
I have a deep love for the Book of Philippians; so much so that anytime I get a new Bible it’s the first book I turn to! I’m not even kidding, read my post, Catholic Journaling Bible Comparision.
I’ve also written about the Book of Philippians a time or two:
Bible Verses About Patience Philippians 4:6
Catholic Journaling Bible: Philippians 2:14-16
How to Study the Bible: Philippians 3
POWERful Bible Journaling: Philippians 1 & 2
POWERful Bible Journaling: Philippians 3 & 4

Philippians Chapter 3 Worksheet
Philippians 3–Journey to Joy
Philippians 3–Everything Else is Worthless
Philippians 3–All About Humility
Philippians 4 and Sirach 17
Wow! I had forgotten some of those old posts I’d written! (Some of those old posts have free Bible Study printables). See, I told you I love the Book of Philippians. It’s my go-to book. Commentators have called it Paul’s “Letter of Joy.” You live in this cray-cray world just like I do; I’m sure we can both agree, we just can’t get enough joy, especially found in the Word of God.
Why an Online Bible Study Community?
Now, you might be wondering, “Why an Online Bible Study Community?” Well, let me preface this by saying, our Online Bible Study Community was a couple of years old when the world…um, well, you know what the world did in 2020!
My original idea for an Online Bible Study Community came about because anytime I thought about joining a Bible Study, or a Women’s Group at church, all I had to do was look at our soccer schedules, our home life, my husband’s work schedules and then went my grand ideas!
Life was and still is busy! I got tired of sacrificing community because between lots of kids, I always seemed to be sitting in a car waiting for one or more of them. But that’s not the whole story.
I’m also an introvert at heart. Well, an extroverted introvert. This means when I’m around people, you probably wouldn’t guess me to be the introvert. But after people, I need some serious alone time to recharge; people drain me…sometimes in a good way and sometimes, just drain me.
The more I thought about an Online Bible Study community, the more I liked the idea! I could meet live with a group of women to read, write, pray, and study God’s Word…but I could do it from my bed in my pajamas–something usually frowned upon in social circles, LOL! I could eat my own yummy snack, I didn’t have to wash my hair, and I could even paint my nails while we were doing Bible Study!
And if I had to miss the live Zoom meeting, I could catch the recording and even add my two cents to the private Facebook group later. Winner winner chicken dinner!
Don’t worry about missing past studies! Once you join the Online Bible Study Community, you have access to the past studies and recordings.
Updated Philippians Online Bible Study
As of July 2022, this Philippians Online Bible Study has been updated! I’ve redesigned the Daily Scripture Writing Plan, added to the Journaling Reflection Questions, added a Character Sketch Page for the Apostle Paul, and a SOAP Bible Journaling Worksheet.
In the coming weeks, I’ll share how I’m reprinting these Online Bible Studies and making my own Bible Study Notebook. I honestly haven’t been this excited about my personal Bible Study in a while! In case you want to gather your supplies now, here’s a list of what I’m using:
A Happy Planner (Big)–the main reason I love a Happy Planner is that I can add pages to it!
Extra Pages for my Happy Planner–for notes, reflections, and doodles
Happy Planner Hole Punch–so I can turn anything into an insert: church bulletins, things I print off the internet, cards, ect.
Frixion Multi-Colored Pens
Sharpie S Note Highlighters
Other Online Bible Studies
I’ve recently updated the Online Bible Study: Psalm 119. Again, I cleaned up the Daily Scripture Writing Plan and Journaling Reflection Questions. I added two bonus Bible Study Worksheets: SOAP Bible Study and a Word Study Worksheet.
I am very much excited to join the community of studying the Bible.
