Welcome to my weekly Daybook post here at The Littlest Way. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Thanking God for…
::3 day weekend
::2 weeks of school down–34 to go, lol!
::Aveeno Body Wash Positively Nourishing–this smells sooo good, not too fruity or floral or musky, just light and clean. I’ve never been a body wash person until my sister bought me a bottle of this.
::Chris as the spiritual head of our family
::tuna fish sandwiches
::for all the young adults learning, discerning and trusting
::all the mommas and dads and aunts and uncles and grandparents and friends who are intensely praying for the above mentioned young adults
::God’s will regarding the Sirach Bible Study and Journal (September 8th is the release date!)
::all our priests
::now that I have an adult child living away from home, I sure do ask a lot of her Guardian Angel, lol!
“Lots of women can lead a Bible study at my church, MANY more can spend time encouraging others online, and there are other moms who can help start up a praying moms group at my son’s school…. But you know what? I’M the only wife my husband has and the only mom my kids have. Because of that, the assignments that come with THOSE two roles should come first. It’s not that I can’t or shouldn’t do ministry outside my home, but — and I’m still learning — only AFTER my family’s needs have been met. As @michellelmyers says: “If God can’t trust us in the assignments that He has graciously granted to us alone, why would He have reason to give us more?” (Luke 16:10)”–Amy Duncan Hale
I’m also pondering sports parents. My experience is soccer so my comments are coming from sitting on the soccer sidelines. I sat on the sides for three games this weekend. Parents–YOU NEED TO CHILL! It’s a game and yes, we are paying money for coaches, travel, equipment, medical care etc. but so are the other parents at the other end of the sideline at this level of play. When you start badmouthing a child your kid is playing against–their parent is most likely a few yards down the sideline from you. There is a such thing as incidental contact when you have 2 players running for one ball. As much as you kid loves to play and doesn’t want to get hurt, especially if they have aspirations to play at the college level–ditto for their opponents. It is never ok for you to be yelling at a child on the field, especially if they aren’t yours. And if you’re yelling at your own, why are you paying a coach? If you want to raise a child who is respectful on the field–be respectful on the field. If you want to raise a child who loves to play–learn to enjoy watching them play. If you want to raise a child who is a team player–learn to encourage the whole team.
I made a “Good Morning” playlist. One of the benefits of being an Amazon Prime member is the free music library and streaming. Think Pandora without the commercials and I get to pick the music I want. I have a few playlists: Good Morning (happy, peppy, lots of Christian praise), Cleaning (peppy and some good rowdy country), Family Roadtrip (happy and easy to sing to), Quiet (lots of piano and instrumental), Work (Christian, piano, hymns), War (praise, hymns), With God (filled with my favorite Christian music).
My large print Bible
Here are a couple of snippets taken from emails I’ve received about the Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission book
“I can’t believe how flipping Awesome this is! Best I have seen! Superb Superb job! Five million Stars from this 49 Year old cradle Catholic!!!!!”
“Thank you for writing this book!! I feel like it was meant just for me. Bible journaling…and well honestly just reading the Bible has been such an overwhelming concept for me. I didn’t know where to start reading, figuring out all the different ways of marking, not to mention I was SO AFRAID I’d do it wrong…..anxiety! You took the fear and anxiety out of Bible journaling for me. I am actually joyful and can’t wait for my next date with God. This book is a must read!!! Thank you again and God Bless!”
Around the House…
The usual. Thanks be to God for the blessed usual.
In the Kitchen…
Every other day or so I feel something in the air that makes me want to cook big pots of chili and soup. College football started this weekend so snacky food is also on my mind. On a related topic, I ran into Aldis the other day. I forget how much cheaper it is to shop there! Granted, I cannot get everything I want or need and I am the momma of a large family so a Sams run is still a given, but I really need to start shopping there more often.
Our Domestic Church…
September 8th is the Blessed Virgin Mary’s birthday! This is a super simple feast day to celebrate–birthday cake!!!
Our monthly installments for mine and Chris’ phones just dropped off our bill–we will never do that again. Next time we’ll just buy a phone out right but we didn’t know we could that a couple of years ago when we upgraded our phones. I mentioned Aldis…Oh, I sent an email to our favorite collagen company recently just letting them know how much we love their product and honestly, not even exaggerating, to let them know the positive impact their collagen has had on our family from relieving my shoulder pain to Chris’ knee pain. They responded by asking for our address so they can send us some free!! Also, I compared collagen prices between our local Sprouts where I buy it and Amazon Subscribe and Save program. I pay almost $14 plus tax at Sprouts. My Subscribe and Save price with Amazon is $10.31
The sequel to one of our favorite family read alouds came in! The two older girls have already stayed up way to late to read ahead, lol!
