Welcome to the new and improved Daybook Online Journal which I have renamed, “Everything is Grace.” I feel like the name change reflects my heart behind these posts; to show that every little thing is grace. My ordinary, every day is filled to abundance, every little nook and cranny (that’s a funny word), with opportunities to recognize the gift of God’s grace, to accept grace, and to extend grace.
Reading
We’ve talked before about how I have a couple of favorite Bibles depending on what I’m needing. For example, my favorite, everyday Bible; the Bible I read for “quantity,” meaning to get the Word in me every single day, is my One Year Catholic Bible, New Living Translation.
My old One Year Bible fell apart; it was paperback and I took it everywhere. Because I’m not a big fan of hardback Bibles (or any hardback book for that matter) I went back to the paperback One Year, New Living Translation.
(Here’s a recent post I did reviewing the Ave Maria Press NRSV Catholic Bible Journaling Edition.)
I bought a Bible cover for it this weekend and I already LOVE it! It’s a perfect size, a plain color, zips closed, and has some pretty accents like white stitching, and embossed crosses on the front. I also bought some monthly planner tabs to place at the beginning of each month.
If I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again, the best Bible–the “right” Bible is the one you will read! (See my post, “Which Catholic Bible Should I Read?) When my One Year Catholic Bible fell apart, I bought a different Bible. It is a nicer, fancier, more legitimate Bible you could say? I didn’t read it as much.
So back to my One Year, bought used off Amazon, paperback, less formal translation…that I LOVE!
Now I’m in the process of getting caught back up in my daily Catholic Bible Study and transferring my notes over from one Bible to the other. Remember, this is just my everyday read, not necessarily my Catholic Journaling Bible I use for my in-depth study or for our Online Bible Study Community.
Praying
Chris’ aunt just died so prayers for her soul and her family. A couple of ladies in our Online Bible Study Community have different things going on like major home renovations (and a collapsed kitchen ceiling), to a husband entering hospice. I’m also and always praying for the would of my children–their faith, their wisdom and courage in this world, and love for God, each other, and our family.
How can I pray for you?
Catholic Bible Study
Today’s New Testament Reading in my One Year Catholic Bible is from 1 Thessalonians 4 and it contains a verse very dear to my heart. “Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before.”
Right after my grandpa died, one of my uncles invited me to the meeting with the funeral home to finalize his funeral arrangements. My grandparents didn’t attend a church, I’m not even sure they prayed, but they were good people–salt of the earth kind of people.
At the meeting, the funeral home director who would be leading the funeral service asked if there was a particular Bible verse or something we wanted him to reference and I remembered the above verse from 1 Thessalonians; it summed up my grandpa’s life perfectly!
Our Online Bible Study Community spent a month reading, writing, praying, and studying 1&2 Thessalonians. You can purchase the Catholic Bible Study Plan, with a daily Scripture Writing Plan and Bible Journaling reflection questions in my Catholic Bible Study Shop.
On Repeat
This is an old favorite song I had forgotten about!
I especially love the phrase and this is something I pray–“Let me see like you.”
This is one of the reasons why daily Bible reading is so important; how can I see like God if I don’t even know God, or how He sees? Reading the Bible consistently–meeting with my Creator, learning more about the heart of God–helps me to grow (Oh hey 2019 word) and be more like God.
In the Kitchen
We’ve had a cold going on around the family so Garlic Soup! Super simple, healthy, easy, effective!
“Garlic is an effective antibacterial, antifungal, antiprotozoal and antiviral agent. Garlic contains organosulfur compounds which impart antimicrobial properties. Garlic is known to be highly effective in reducing the growth of bacteria. Garlic has been used as an antiseptic, antibacterial, and antifungal agent. It may help the body resist or destroy viruses and other microorganisms. It does this by boosting the immune system. Garlic is also claimed to fight infections.” At the very least, it’s not gonna hurt!
Garlic Soup
Chicken Broth, Bone Broth, or Stock
Garlic
Croutons
Yep, that’s the recipe! Make as much or as little as you need. The other night when I made it for everyone I used (1) 32 oz carton of Chicken Broth and (1) 32 oz carton of Chicken Bone Broth and a whole head of garlic that I minced. I heated this on the stovetop to boiling, poured it into mugs, and topped it with a few croutons. It was strong but effective; everyone who wasn’t feeling so great woke up the next morning feeling better.
I also swear by Inner Defense capsules by Young Living, diffusing Thieves or Geranium and Lemon, rubbing my “Cold Bomb” on the soles of our feet, up and down our spine and a dab in our belly button, drinking at least 4oz of Ningxia Red a day, and Sulfurzyme. (Here’s my Young Living Link BTW) Let’s break this all down.
Inner Defense Capsules
Inner Defense contains:
🌿Virgin Coconut Oil is a known supporter of skin, hair, and nails. It is also supportive to the cardiovascular, renal, and GI systems as well as supportive to the bones and pancreas.

Inner Defense is infused with the following Essential Oils:
🌿Clove essential oil is highly beneficial for its immune support and antioxidant activities.
🌿Oregano essential oil is high in carvacrol and thymol. These constituents can aid with occasional digestive issues, support the immune and respiratory systems, support the joint and musculoskeletal flexibility, and even may support oral health.
🌿Thyme essential oil is rich in thymol and is a respiratory and immune-supporting oil.

🌿Rosemary essential oil is another terrific immune supporting oil and may improve mental clarity.
🌿Cinnamon Bark essential oil is immune and hematologic (blood) system supporting.
Usage: 1-2 capsules 2 times daily to support immune health. If I’m already full-blown sick I will take an Inner Defense every 2 hours. Improved synergy when taken in conjunction with Life 9 Probiotic 8 hours after taking Inner Defense capsules.
You can use Duck Duck Go to verify the information above. You may be able to verify using Google as well? But Google tends to be a little stingy with information like this. I pulled this information from Dr. Edie Wadsworth who teaches “Essential Oils from a Doctor’s Perspective” to our Young Living Group.

Sulfurzyme
Sulfurzyme POWDER is different than Sulfurzyme capsules because it contains a PRE-biotic, which helps with gut health. It helps detox the body. It feeds into the methylation process with MSM. MSM is nutritional sulfur. Sulfurzyme thus has MSM. Every single protein starts with a sulfur-containing amino acid so we need to maintain a healthy supply of it so it doesn’t steal it from another source within our body. Sulfur is a major detoxer for heavy metals.
We are exposed to heavy metals every day so sulfur is important to take every day. It takes the heavy metal, adds sulfur to it, converts it to a less toxic form which the body then can get rid of more easily. This is not just MSM.
Sulfurzyme Powder:
🌿Supports healthy weight management
🌿 Supports clear skin
🌿 Supports healthy joints
🌿 Supports fast recovery times (sports/fitness)
🌿Supports healthy digestion, detoxification + elimination
🌿 Supports Brain Health
(Sulfa allergic people–this is NOT the same thing!!! This is nutritional sulfur and is safe for people with a sulfa allergy)
Lime oil is 100% pure bioflavonoids, which help support the immune system, stimulate the detox pathway, helps with the absorption of Vitamin C, extra microcirculation, and limonene. 3 drops have 150 ml of bioflavonoids!
Cold Bomb
I use about 15 drops of each oil and then half that amount of the Frankincense oil in a 5ml roller bottle topped off with fractionated coconut oil. (Look these oils up on PubMed using Duck Duck Go!!)
🍃Oregano essential oil
🍃Peppermint essential oil
🍃Thieves essential oil
🍃Lemon essential oil
🍃Frankincense essential oil
To get wholesale pricing–thinks Sam’s or Costco–and free shipping, just spend $100 and or add an item to a Subscribe and Save subscription–think Amazon. I use my Subscribe and Save for items I use ALL THE TIME–supplements (Life 9 Probiotic and Inner Defense), Ningxia (antioxidant drink), and oils I use daily like Cedarwood for rest and relaxation and Nutmeg for Adrenal Gland support–TRUST ME on this!!
(And if you’re wondering about Christians and Essential Oils, here’s a post I wrote about why I believe Christians cans use essential oils, “Can Christians Use Essential Oils?” I also address why the enemy would try to scare us away from using them!)
Pondering
Last week Elizabeth Foss did an “Ask Me Anything” in her Instagram Stories. Many of the questions centered around raising children, in a large family, in this world and praying they stay close to the family, each other, and the Church.
One thing Elizabeth said that has stuck with me was, “Their story isn’t finished; none of our stories are finished.” I needed to hear that! I’m clinging to that!!
Speaking of clinging–do you know how many times the word “cling” is used in the Bible when speaking of our relationship with God or His Word? In just transferring my notes from one daily Bible to the other I’m coming across it a lot!
I’m also noticing how many times the Bible mentions someone–Jesus included, meeting with or getting up, per God’s request, “early in the morning.” So much so I think I’m going to start an index page at the back and listing every time I come across the phrase, “early in the morning.”
Well, this turned out to be a big ‘ol post! I’m so glad I started these daybook, now Everything is Grace posts back up! I do feel like though, how you talk a whole bunch when you haven’t seen someone in a while, lol!
