Welcome! For the next 31 days I will writing (and maybe vlogging) about Bible quotes. This introduction post was supposed to be a written introduction…supposed to be. I decided to make video instead! While cleaning my closet yesterday I came across some old journals that I had kept in 2009-2010 while struggling intensely with my mind. I was battling fear and anxiety…and it was a fierce battle. Providentially I was led to a Biblical counselor and he taught me to use my tools, the Word of God. His direction and encouragement started me on the road to becoming a Bible reader.
A few words about the video. I made it in my car while waiting for my daughter who was teaching catechism to preschoolers. I mention in the video, if you are looking for a slick, well put together production…you may be in the wrong place. I am a wife and momma right in the thick of it; I do not want that to stop me from sharing with you and I pray it does not stop you from coming along side me. I write, read, blog and now make videos in my car, in my office, at the dinning room table or the small counter in my kitchen. If I waited until I had a studio and props…well, it might be a long wait.

So, Bible quotes for 31 days? Yes, 31 Days of Bible Quotes. As I mention, if you’ve Googled “What does the Bible say about…?” You are going to enjoy our next 31 days together. I will be covering topics we commonly flip through our Bible looking for or Google, at least I do: fear, anger, patience, trust, joy…These are areas I want to infuse and saturate with the Word of God. I want God’s direction in these areas of my life because left to my own, well I muddle things up quite well. So not only do I want God’s direction in these areas, I want to be able to speak His Word in those areas. When I’m feeling afraid, I want to have His Word in my arsenal so I can pull it out and say to myself,
I don’t want to find comfort in an ice cream sandwich, television sitcom or Facebook. I want my comfort to come from my creator. So again, welcome to 31 Days of Bible Quotes. I’ll repeat from the video and my post a couple of days ago, I pray for the next 31 days the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be pleasing to God and encouraging to you.
Let’s get started!

Well nuts. I’ve been trying to watch it both on this site and YouTube but it isn’t loading. I’ll keep trying though!!
Jenny says
Oh man! Do you have some type of block-something-or-another? Not that I say anything that needs to be blocked, lol!
Alexis says
I finally got it to load and was able to watch- well worth the wait!! Guess our internet connection was being lazy today!!
Jenny says
Yay! Um, next time, I:
A) wont have the phone turned so there is all that black space around me
B) will pay attention to the fact that it is getting dark outside
Clare says
Great to listen to you!
Jenny says
Well thanks Clare. I’m sure I sound very different than what you’re used to.
Janet says
Good encouragement, Jenny. Thank you. I appreciate your authenticity in this place. God never fails! Amen!!
I suffer from being cynical and judgemental so I am looking forward to this time together reading the Word of God. It feels good to say that to you, to admit what I struggle with.
On another note, I have thrown out entire journal pages too. Glad to hear I am not alone it that!
Jenny says
I try Janet. I know I need to hear that other people struggle. Ine, I don’t feel so alone and two, I can feel empathy for them which takes my focus off myself.
