Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
Life is full of hard lessons, so I pray, the lessons are learned, in the easiest way possible.
Pondering…
I’m not familiar with the author John Green (The Fault in Our Stars and his new book Turtles All the Way Down) since I don’t read fiction but I read an interview of his this weekend that was incredible. In this interview, he gave words to an intense struggle I had a number of years ago. Being a blogger, I wrote a post about his interview and my struggle. Meet me back here in a couple of days to read it. The post was based on this quote, “It starts out with one little thought, and then slowly that becomes the only thought that you’re able to have,” Green says. “It’s like there’s an invasive weed that just spreads out of control.” You may have heard me mention here my struggles with my thinking. I’ve talked about “it” without naming it. This week, I name it.
Listening to…
The washing machine and dryer are doing their workhorse daily duty, the Guineas are having a fit outisde my window, and I hear my two youngest playing.
Reading…
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
I picked these two books up at the library this weekend, The 5 Second Rule: Transform your Life, Work, and Confidence with Everyday Courage and The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living.
Bible Journaling…
The new Bible Journaling Kit from Illustrated Faith is out, “Designed with little, colorful acorns and decorative leaves, the November kit entitled “Gratitude” invites you to focus on praise and worship.” The washi tape in this kit is the cutest! I can’t wait to share this kit with you for Bible journaling, prayer journaling or using in my planner.
Around the House…
Laundry, dishes, dusting, bathrooms…it really is never-ending right? And the grocery store, ugh. I keep repeating to myself, “Thank you God that I have a grocery store I can walk into and get everything I need and even want.”
In the Kitchen…
See my grocery store affirmation above.
Self Care
I took naps all weekend long. I’m so thankful I could because I know I needed to get caught up on rest since my trip. I traveled with Lavender and Good Night to help me sleep and I know they helped, but travel in general can really zap a person mentally and physically. And there really is nothing like my own bed. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon instead of a distributor.)

Our Domestic Church…
Tuesday the 24th is the Feast of St. Raphael the Archangel. The 25th is the Feast of St. Isidore the Farmer–perfect day to visit a Pumpkin Patch! Sunday the 29th is the Feast of Christ the King–“On this day, we pray for the conversion of all to Christ, and for all governments to recognize Him as King and conform their laws to His teachings. This is the only way to peace!”
Saving Money…
I need to check and see if my Walmart has online shopping yet. I’m pretty sure the less itme I spend in Walmart, the less money I will spend.
Captured…
A statue of St. Therese the Little Flower at St. Patrick’s Church in New Orleans.
P.S. This weekend I designed some desktop and mobile wallpapers/lockscreens for email subscribers so make sure you’re signed up. I also added some printables to The Littlest Way shop.

I love all of your posts! I will certainly put you on my prayer list and I ask you to pray for my youngest son and his wife.
I have a question, do you watch current television shows? Everything seems tone just garbage. I keep meaning to ask my pastor about guidelines on worldly t.v. for Catholics, maybe I am being too crazy about this.
