Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::a predicted storm–ice and snow–for being a 100% flop, nada, nothing, not even a drop of rain
::putting our Christmas tree up (we decorate the 3rd week of Advent so right now just white lights)
::giving the girls in our dental office Stress Away rollers–they started using them immediately!!
::talking hormones and all things woman with one of them while Bridget was having her braces checked
::Bridget getting half of her braces off tomorrow and the rest next week
::Veronica will be home in 2 days!
Praying…
We are praying our St. Andrew Novena. It has just worked out this way for some reason but each night we all end up in our bedroom for prayer. This Advent we’re reading one chapter of the Book of Luke and then praying our novena. Simple and sweet. Now, the intentions I have…anything but simple and sweet.
Pondering…
“The parallels [1 Samuel 2 Hannah sings a song of praise which is very similar to Mary’s song] are not word for word; neither Mary nor Luke is quoting the Old Testament. Instead it seems to me that Mary is so steeped in Scripture that when she breaks out in praise, the words that come naturally to her lips are the words of Scripture. Being a young woman, she probably loved the stories of the Old Testament women of faith like Sarah, Deborah, Hannah, Ruth, and Abigail. What an admonition to us all, both women and men (young and old—Mary probably was not over 15): to steep our minds and hearts in the Scriptures day and night so that the words and thoughts of Scripture fill our mouths as naturally as they did Mary’s.”

Nothing and everything. Probably a lot like you right now.
Reading…
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
I am days away from reading my entire Bible in one year!! Days away friends!!!
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
Bible Journaling…
I can’t remember if I’ve already told you this or not but I started journaling in my Inspire Catholic Journaling Bible. Just Luke Chapter 1. I’ll have a post up soon showing you what I did; it was more verse mapping than Bible journaling.
Also, who wants a Journaling Bible for Christmas? Here’s a post comparing the two Catholic Journaling Bibles available.
Around the House…
I had all my laundry folded by the end of the day two times last week so there’s that! As for the rest…ummmm….
In the Kitchen…
I am going on my third week without a shake in the morning. I’m still not happy about it but I need to find our what’s going on with my tummy. I talked to my sister today after church and she was telling about her yummy meals and I’m just standing there like…I’m just not a foodie like she is. But I do seriously need to up my meal game. Advice?

Self Care
I’m getting some questions about Christians using essential oils. I will have a post up soon telling you everything I think about it. Let me just quickly say, God made plants and gave them to us for our use and pleasure. Essential oils are made from those God given plants for our use and pleasure.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I sign up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

Our Domestic Church…
Hello Second Week of Advent! We have been so good at lighting our Advent Wreath this year! Let’s not even talk about how bad we were the last few years!
Saving Money…
When I purchased my Premium Starter Kit from Young Living, I signed up for Essential Rewards because, hello, a percentage back, shipping options, and freebies. I’ve already received Nutmeg Vitality as a freebie and this month I’m getting Lemongrass. I cannot wait for this one because it’s supposed to be good for soft tissue repair and we all know Veronica needs that over the Christmas break!
