Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I’m still struggling with fear–what if there are more melanoma? What if they didn’t get it all?
This will probably be a good time to offer a little etiquette. If someone tells you they had a melanoma removed, PLEASE for the love of God (not blasphemy, seriously a prayer!) DO NOT tell them you know someone who died from it!!!
Pondering…
The Book of Sirach. I forget just how much I love this book of the Bible!
I broke down and paid .99 for three months of Spotify Premium, no ads and unlimited skips. I think this might be worth it even once the trial price goes up. I have so many playlists–Roadtrip, Work, Exercise, Chill, Clean the House, etc. Tell me your favorite song right now.

Bible in a Year: Your Daily Encounter with God
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible and the Inspire Catholic Bible NLT: The Bible for Coloring & Creative Journaling
These are my study and journaling Bibles.

Bible Journaling…
Recently I have started doing a completely casual “Favorite Tabs” in my Bible. I use little, skinny stick it notes, or bigger ones if they are all I can find. I’ve even used some planner sticker tabs or washi tape folded back on itself.
Around the House…
Let’s see, I have one word…May. We moved Veronica and roommate’s things into our garage. I had surgery. Veronica had her wisdom teeth out. I spent Memorial Weekend on the road Saturday, Sunday and Monday. We helped a friend whose home was threatened by the flooding move all items upstairs in her home and we brought some things home. We had family in town. Around the house has been hit or miss in May. But now it’s June! Things are starting to get back into a normal(ish) routine.
In the Kitchen…
I need a reset in the kitchen, in my meal planning, in what we eat. I know I’ve mentioned Whole 30 before. How family and budget-friendly is it? Or can it be? I’ve also started working out again and Luke works out five days a week with his assistant soccer coach, I know I need to clean up our meals.
I started strong with eMeals and then came to a screeching halt! I think I’m going to try their Clean Eating, or maybe their Quick and Healthy, or maybe even the 4-Week Keto Plan to reset and get some healthy variety going on around here. And I love that I can sync my meal plan with my Walmart Grocery Order!

Self Care
I’ve started moving my body again and it feels good and tiring and exhausting and refreshing…I just kept thinking when I was praying for a clean pathology report, “Then what?” I don’t want to take my health for granted. I don’t want to misuse the gift of being able to move my body.
Friends, I would love to introduce you to my essential oil team. I don’t even want to know how my May would have gone without the support of my essential oils. Everything from relaxing baths with Epsom Salt, Vetiver and Frankincense essential oils, to drinking my daily dose of NingXia, to putting Nutmeg essential oil on the soles of my feet before bed to help my adrenal glands settle back down–this one is probably the biggest change I’ve seen.
You know how they say we are a body and a soul? Well, we’re also a bunch of hormones that are constantly under attack and essential oils have buffered the attacks and repaired some of the damage.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

Thank you for your grace this past month. I know things were quiet here.
Our Domestic Church…
June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Sacred Heart of Jesus is all about the mercy of God. Here’s a 21 Day Scripture Writing Plan on the Mercy of God, pulling especially from the Catholic Books of the Bible.
Saving Money…
Well hello there medical bills! We haven’t even received a bill from the plastic surgeon yet, I bet it’ll be a good one! Kidding aside, all the bills are totally worth it. I’m a semi-pro at calling insurance companies and doctors offices and hospitals figuring out how to pay medical bills and still put food on the table.

OK, I just signed up for eMeals. We’ll see how that goes, I’m terrible at following meal plans, and I’ve never ordered groceries online. I did my “big” shopping this morning, 3 stores in an hour. The dogs get a treat when I walk in with groceries – how’s that going to work if I order online, lol?
Sorry for all the spaces between words, keyboard’s gone wonky and the warranty just ran out, so I’ll deal with it.

Grateful for your continued healing! My favorite song right now? Just about anything from The Greatest Showman. The music is beautiful and uplifting. I see it as a movie full of hope and redemption– Not just about a circus guy. 😀 Anyway take care. Just a little request for prayer for my numerous and heavy private intentions at this time, please. Prayers. K
