Welcome to my weekly Sunday post, Daybook Online Journal. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. If you blog, please link up below with your Daybook Online Journal post. If you don’t have a blog, no worries, just leave your “post” in the comments. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.
Daybook Online Journal: Heaven or Hell
Thanking God for…
::raising my children on a piece of land
::shopping with my daughters and friends at GW Boutique (Goodwill)
::laughing with Bernadette through the grocery store
::Mass, Soup and Stations on Friday night
::Chris coming into the office all the time when I’m working in here
::repair man coming to look at the dishwasher on Friday
::getting a cow! Technically she’s a heifer–but pregnant
Praying…
I am praying for those with cancer: Joe, Shelby, Elizabeth etc. I am praying for me as a momma. The realization has been with me this week, I am not raising a boy, I am raising a boy who will become the head of a family or a church someday…wow, that’s a huge responsibility. I’m praying for my daughters and sons…this world, ugh…and sigh.
Pondering…
I’m pondering charity and hospitality. I’m pondering something we all laughed about recently, how did such an introvert like myself end up with so many extroverted children! Good one God!
Listening to…
I’m listening to Alan Jackson sing old Gospel Hymns and the dryer do its constant job.
Reading…
My Bible–The NRSV Notetaker’s Bible
My Lenten Reading–Our Thoughts Determine Our Lives: The Life and Teachings of Elder Thaddeus of Vitovnica (The above quote about our thoughts came from the introduction of this book.)

Bible Journaling…
This week and weekend were pretty busy so I have not had the time to devote to Bible Journaling. I will Sunday morning though–I’ve started writing this Saturday night. Did you see where I’ve started tabbing my favorite verses or stories? (Bible Journaling: Favorites Tabs) I’ve started doing this so I can find these favorites easily.
Around the House…
I cleaned out my closet on Friday afternoon and gathered six bags–one trash and five to be donated. I do share a closet with Leo so not everything was mine, but still…I need to go through each room and do the same thing–mercilessly–until I rid our home of clutter.
In the Kitchen…
Having a few cheats here and there since December equals a forgotten sugar addition not so forgotten. I’m going to start weaning myself back off, per Chris’ instruction. He doesn’t want me to go cold turkey off my morning and evening hot Chai, lol!
Our Domestic Church…
It was so good to attend Mass, enjoy soup at our parish and then attend Stations of the Cross. This used to be a constant up until a few years ago and then I honestly think I just got tired and needed a break. Not a break from devotions or Church, but sometimes not having to leave the house with a bunch of people is a good thing.
Saving Money…
Did you see we got a cow! And she’s pregnant! And in the late Spring/ early Summer we should be getting a steer! Once they get big enough we’ll butcher them, keeping some of the meat for ourselves and selling the rest. Also, our chickens have started laying! Chris and Luke hooked up two lights–one per coop, and they have started laying. We have a couple of egg eaters that need to be taken care of though.

I’m all about choosing joy and it sounds like that’s what you’re all about! Love it <3

Hooray for laying chickens! We won’t ever be able to have cattle here, but I love the idea of saving through simple living. And, oh, that decluttering – it’s never-ending! Thanks for linking up with #SmallWonder.

Praying along with you for our young ones, Jenny! I feel that weight often as well. And so exciting about the heifer! Lots going on it seems! We went to our soup and stations at our parish but unfortunately it didn’t sit well with my youngest who upchucked it come early morning…on me. Hopefully that won’t happen again this week!

I love your prayer that you’re not just raising a boy, but a man. Raising kids is definitely not a small responsibility. Our goal is for them to be mature godly adults. “Divine Intimacy” sounds like a great book for Lent. I’m working through “40 Days with the Holy Spirit.”
