Welcome to My Daybook Online Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Although maybe not noticeable to anyone other than me, this space has been a tiny bit quiet the past week. I've missed here but needed to work through or around a few things before I could be present here again. Maybe you'll understand (or not) as you read my love/hate #fridayintroductions below. 💭Connection and conversation can be hard–in real life and online and I share below my thoughts on both. ❤️I love having intimate conversations about the ways God is working in someone's life. I saw this the other day, "intimate" = in to me When we share intimate conversations we're allowing someone to look into us and vice versa. 🚫I hate being interrupted. I'm a deep thinker and I have to get out of my head and heart to be able to process. I have to talk to see and understand life–mine and others. When I can get outside of myself to process, I'm better able to be available to and for others. It's almost like I have to get myself out of the way to make room for them. I can't accurately describe what it feels like to start the process of processing things verbally and then be interrupted. I can tell you, it's actually painful. ❤️I love trying to understand people, places, things, situations. One of my favorite prayers is asking God to help me see things clearly and/or to see things like He sees them–myself included. 🚫I hate being misunderstood. It hurts in such a deep way…it's another one of those things I can't accurately explain but it literally hurts. And if I feel misunderstood more often than not I'll withdraw and quick!! The same goes for frustration. If I sense someone is frustrated with me, I'll retreat. I get frustrated with myself easily and often enough; I know what it feels like to be frustrated with me. 👉Here's the thing friends, these love/hate points make me who I am…right now. I'm always striving to be more like Jesus and overcome those parts of myself that are less like Him while continuing to strengthen the few areas where I just might slightly resemble Him😊
Right now I’m listening to the dryer tumble the last load for the night…not to be confused with the last load that needs to be done! Musically I have a playlist on Spotify named, “Love Winter” with a variety of songs that make me happy which hopefully will make me love winter, lol!

Friends, if you're not reading your Bible regularly I'd love to help you start or get back in the habit. There is not any other thing I have done in my spiritual life that has had as much of an impact as spending time in God's Word. Spending time reading my Bible daily has… ❤️Taught me more about the virtue of patience with myself and with others. 🧡Shown me the effects of accepting grace and extending grace. 💛Brought me in closer friendship with God. 💚Given me the example of what true love looks like. 💙Revealed the importance of Christ-like humility. 💜Set the example and standard for hospitality and holy friendship. 🚫And friends, please don't make it hard or you won't do it, trust me! All you need is a Bible or a Bible app. THAT'S IT! THAT'S ALL! 😁Now, a community of lovely ladies who read, write, pray, and study the scriptures together online in a weekly Facebook Live chat doesn't hurt😉 💌Consider this post your invitation to join our Online Bible Study Community in the month of February as we study Jesus. Hit the link in my IG profile and click BIBLE STUDY COMMUNITY or visit The Littlest Way and click on the Online Bible Study Community on the top. 💘I couldn't think of a better way to spend the month of love and ease into Lent than to intimately learn of and study the one Who literally gave His very life for me. 💡 "Everything you do is beautiful, flowing from your goodness; teach me the power of your wonderful words." +Psalm 119:68
In the Kitchen…
I made homemade chicken noodle soup for a kiddo who’s down. It was super yummy!! I needed to make it quick so I used spaghetti noodles instead of homemade noodles and it was still amazing!
Monday through Friday I go to the gym–I still can’t believe that’s something I say!! I am excited to go to the gym, I’m all pumped up when I leave the gym, and then when Chris gets home and asks me how the gym was I get all pumped up all over again! I’m reading Tim Mcgraw’s book, Grit & Grace: Train the Mind, Train the Body, Own Your Life and it is so good! It talks about this very thing, that moving your body is so good for your mood, mind, and emotions.
We are diffusing Thieves since we have a sick child. I also have a roller bottle I made that has Oregano oil in it. Oregano oil is so good!
Oregano oil benefits
• Used as a powerful cleansing and purifying agent
• Provides amazing immune-enhancing benefits
• Supports healthy digestion and respiratory function
• Excellent source of antioxidants
• Oregano contains thymol and carvacrol, which have been
studied and found to have many benefits
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I signed up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)
The Littlest Way
Oh friends! I am so ready for this year here at The Littlest Way! Last year was a struggle and the ghosts and demons from 2019 keep trying to crowd their way into 2020 but I’m not having any of it! I have missed doing the work God has called me to here and I’m not going to be distracted anymore, or at least for very long.

St. Benedict's Abbey was built in 1928 and as I look at this building, I wonder about all the stories held inside these walls and all the storms weathered outside these walls. I wonder how many mishaps and worse case scenarios have taken place through the years and yet this impressive building still boldly stands. I was telling someone the other day 4 out of my 5 worst nightmares came true last year. And yet, I'm still here; through mishaps and worse case scenarios, I'm still boldly standing. Now, I might be standing hesitantly at times, but I believe a person can stand both hesitantly and boldy at the same time…standing is standing.
