It’s the most wonderful time of the year…No, it really is a wonderful time! It’s time for Christmas Bible journaling! Oh, wait–back-up. There are few things better than preparing for a baby. There are certain scents, colors, and patterns that you know, just by looking at them or smelling them, mean baby. Advent and Christmas are the same–we are preparing for a baby, there are certain sights, sounds, scents, colors, and patterns that we instantly recognize. I believe the familiarity of the season can sometimes be used to inspire us to try something new and creative within the confines of “comfortable.” Whether it’s trying a new candle scent–who would have thought Alpine Martini or Bubbly Pomegranate would be a candle scent? To a new recipe–I’m not sure my grandma could have imagined Pumpkin Whoopie-Pies. Why let the candle companies and Martha Stewart have all the fun? Let’s get innovative and creative on our own! I’m talking about Christmas Bible journaling.
I know you may have been hesitant to try Bible journaling. I mean, have you scrolled through Pinterest looking at journaling Bibles? Yeah, me too and it’s super intimidating. Well, except for mine. I like to think of myself as the Patron of Hesitant Bible journalers. I have found something that has upped my creative fun and lowered my negative self-talk because I’m not as creative as the journalers I see on Pinterest. Ta-Da! Illustrated Faith Bible Journaling Kits to my creative rescue.
A couple of months ago I ordered a Bible Journaling Kit from Dayspring. I LOVED it! It had everything I needed in one cute little box. I loved it so much I contacted the company, told them I wrote about Bible journaling here at The Littlest Way and they sent me the Christmas Bible Journaling Kit. I loved it so much I went back to their site and ordered every single Bible Journaling Kit they offered. This is the way to go y’all. Brand new to Bible journaling or wanting to build a good supply of stamps and washi tape, these kits are all inclusive.
The only devotional I’ve used–the kits come with a Travelers Notebook sized devotional–is the Lists By Faith devotional. This devotional was a lovely gratitude prompt journal. I mention that because I can’t vouch for the devotional but I can totally and whole heartedly recommend the kits. The stamps are amazing and not ones like you’d find at your local craft store. The washi is a perfect compliment not only to the kit, but I laid out all the washi tape from all the kits yesterday and they compliment each other.
That’s another thing I love about these kits and one of the things that prompted me to order all the kits–they are completely interchangeable. Honestly, these kits are the only Bible journaling supplies you need.
And they are not just for Bible journalers. I use the washi tape, stamps, and pretty paper clips in my planner. These kits are the only planner supplies you need as well. And if all that sounded like a big sales pitch. It is and it isn’t. Do I think you should buy these kits? Yes, if you’ve wanted to start Bible journaling or decorating your planner–I absolutely, totally and honestly believe you could buy these kits and not have to buy another thing. If you’re not interested in Bible journaling–or you prefer old school pen and highlighter–then these kits are not for you. And as for a sales pitch, I share what I love. Simple.
Now let me show you what I’ve designed using the Christmas kit. I took a blank Travelers Notebook and added a little acrylic paint for the background. I used the stars stamp and the gold ink pad to add some sparkle around the edges. Next, I cut out the numbers from the fold out included in the kit. I rough cut these for a homespun look. I glued them into my notebook to be an “Advent Gratitude Countdown.” A pretty red polka dot paperclip to help me keep my place and WA-LA! You can do that right?! Even if you think you’re not a creative person.
Have I peaked your interest in Bible journaling? How about the idea of using these kits in your planners? Making cards or crafts? If I have, or if you were already interested, Illustrated Faith has their new Advent 2017 Bible Journaling kit on sale for $15 y’all. I am telling you, there is no way possible you could assemble all the supplies provided in these kits for that amount. I’m not trying to be all info-mercially on you, but I don’t know how long these kits will last so if you’re thinking about getting one, now is the time. And how about one for your best friend, mother or sister?
