Friends, I’m so happy you’re here and interested in this Online Bible Study about getting to know God better. I’m going to start this brief post by asking a few questions.
Getting to Know God Online Bible Study
Who do we know, love and serve? God? Good, right answer. But let me ask you this, how much do you know about God? I mean really and truly know about the God we claim to know, love and serve. If that question gives you some a slight pause, this Online Bible Study is for you!
Let me ask another question. How much time do you spend with your spouse, sister, mother, best friend? And let me ask you another question. Does the amount of time have anything to do with your intimate knowledge of them?
And does your intimate knowledge of them relate in any way to your level of trust in them? How about your respect for them?
I know, a lot of questions right? And it may seem like comparing apples to oranges when I start asking questions that compare God to man, but it’s not that exactly.
Although it would be silly to compare God to man, it’s not silly in the sense that both require relationship. To know someone, anyone, God or man, we must have relationship.
And part of relationship is an intimacy, a knowing that comes from time spent together, learning more about each other.
When you’re first getting to know a person, this can look like conversations–some deep and probing and some on the fly and learning things like their favorite color or if they prefer tacos over pizza.
As time goes on, building relationship might look like learning more about their past, and their family. You begin to understand the way they talk and the dreams and ideas they hold dear.
Friends, it’s the same with God. The more time we spend with Him, getting to know Him and His story, the deeper, more intimate, and more connected the relationship becomes.
This Online Bible Study with a Scripture Writing Plan will help you learn more about God in a deeper, more intimate way. You’ll spend an entire month reading, writing, and praying as you learn more about God’s character and His various names.
