Welcome to the Daybook Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!

Praying…
The last hour into our drive home from vacation something went wrong with our car. It still works, but it idles extremely hard, like it’s about to die hard. It shifts hard, etc. Chris replaced everything he knew to replace so we took it to the mechanic. We’re taking it for a second opinion this week. Fingers crossed and prayers appreciated.
Pondering…
The song, Fear is a Liar. I wrote a pretty vulnerable post about how fear lies to me when I battle anxiety and scary thoughts. You can read that later this week and once it’s posted, I’ll come back in here and link to it.
Also, my sister went to the funeral of her adopted boys’ mother last week; she was 42. Chris went to the funeral of his boss’ brother last week; he was 46. Those funerals are especially hard when they are your age.
Listening to…
I’m trying to listen to my positive self-talk and daily affirmations. I know you know this, but some days it just seems like we can’t ever get a little ahead financially. There’s always something. And yes, I realize we just a vacation…by the skin of our teeth. Meaning, we had no wiggle room in the budget for the RV air conditioner breaking which it did on day 1 or the refrigerator breaking which it did on day 2 or the Suburban breaking on the way home.

The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
You can always check out my Amazon Store Front for more book recommendations. I only include books here that I would buy rather than check out at the library and the ones I would read again, refer to again, or recommend any chance I get.
Bible Journaling…
I posted the other day a Bible Journaling page I designed using the Illustrated Faith Kit, ‘Stronger Together.’ It’s funny how in my mind it was supposed to be a simple Bible Journaling page and once it made it to the post, it had morphed into a raw post about my lack of self-esteem and honor. But God…
Around the House…
I took this week to get settled and caught up from our vacation. Little did I know I would also be dealing with insurance and car repair stuff!
So far we haven’t had to rush to keep up with the mowing because we haven’t had a lot of rain. It’s a balance because we want rain to fill the ponds and make the grass grow so we get a good hay crop. But, that means we constantly struggle to stay on top of the mowing.
In the Kitchen…
I’ve been using a lot of our Zaycon chicken ( I pick up my next Order in October) lately so Chris told me the other day if I didn’t start using the venison he was going to start giving it away! It’s not a threat, he just doesn’t like the meat to sit in the freezer knowing there are people who need it. So on the menu this week:
Tacos
Sloppy Joes
Chili

Self Care
I hurt my leg a couple of weeks ago and then hurt it worse this last week. I haven’t been able to walk on my treadmill and my mind feels it. I have started back up using videos to lift hand weights. This one is one of my favorites! It’s only 10 minutes but as one commenter said, “I may or may not have cried the last 30 seconds!”
I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.

This post, “A Letter to a Momma with Hands Full” hit a nerve with many of you. I appreciate the messages and emails I received. I think I answered them all and hopefully in an encouraging way. Motherhood is hard, I get it, I see you. I have a guest post coming out soon over at Not So Formulaic where I share what I did wrong early in my motherhood to make it so hard on myself. I’ll let you know when it’s posted.
Our Domestic Church…
Have you been enjoying Scripture Journal Printables: 21 Days of Mercy? Good! I’m working on a new one for July.
Also, July is traditionally a time to commemorate the Blood of Jesus. Am I the only one or as a child, and maybe even young adult, did talking about the Blood of Jesus kind of creep you out? Like when people mentioned being covered in the blood?
Saving Money…
Car issues have made me realize we’re not saving as well as we should be. It’s also made me realize, there’s just not much to save. You can be almost debt free and close to broke.
Captured…

Hi Jenny, somewhere in all your posts, I find exactly what I need. My sympathies and prayers for those close to the funerals you mentioned. They reminded me of the important things in this life and I needed to see these words today. And the Blood of Christ, for me, has to be in context. Taking it out of context does make it creepy for me as well. God bless you and yours, Susan

Yes, now that I’m older and a little wiser, in context speaking or hearing about the Blood of Jesus isn’t as weird. Thanks be to God this post was of some value to you. It was a tough week funeral wise for my sister and husband.
