Welcome to the Daybook Journal. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the why’s and how to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!

Praying…
Oh boy, am I praying for college money for my girl. We have her official acceptance letter and her official financial package letter, umm…..I can’t believe God would present such an opportunity for her to continue to play soccer, and at a Catholic college, only for the financial burden to be greater than she can bear. Will you pray for and with us please? Chris and I cannot pay for college so the enormity of this rests on her. Again, please pray.

Bible Journaling…
I have a preview of the new, “This is Love” Bible Journaling kit from Dayspring; it’s a sweet winner! Watch my Instagram for more when I can share. And I used their new January Goals Kit in my planner the other day.
I love the versatility of these kits. My kids also use them to decorate cards they send to their oldest sister.
Around the House…
We did a major house clean this weekend in preparation for our Epiphany Blessing–closets and all! That being said, I think I”m going to join my friend Kathryn in a 10 day, I think? house purge. She’ll probably post most of it on Instagram.
In the Kitchen…
I would like to repeat my continued undying love for Walmart Grocery Pickup. It was literally one of my most favorite things of 2017. And with that, the family is having fish sticks and tater tots for dinner tonight. That’s what happens when momma has to leave the house–it totally throws me off my game. Something I seriously need to work on. The rest of this week we’re cooking from the Trim Healthy Mama new cookbook because I LOVE the section with Instant Pot recipes, total life saver. (I have this Instant Pot but I really wish I would have gotten the bigger one.)
Oh one more thing, I saw this incredible deal on boneless, skinless chicken breasts. .99 a pound y’all! Now, it does come in 40 pund boxes but um, yes please! Use this code–99cents, this link to order yours. According to the USDA, you can freeze chicken for up to 9 months. So, pull up to a delivery site and they place it in your car…easy peasy, boneless, skinless chicken breasts for a year at 99cents a pound.
Self Care
Anxiety Ease is in my top 3 essential oils. I diffused it all the blessed day on Sunday–that kind of day. I just got in an order of some single oils to diffuse or use right now during cold and flu season: Oregano, Eucalyptus, Clove Bud, Tea Tree, and Grapefruit. And still diffusing my “Momma Blend” in the living room plus we all put a little on our feet before bed. (You can read here why I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.) And look at this essential oil carrying case! I also just stick mine in ziploc baggies.

Our Domestic Church…
This Sunday is Septuagesima Sunday, the beginning of the pre-Lent season.
Saving Money…
I’ve decided our first baby step of the financial year is to put 20% of our earnings into our Emergency Fund. Right now, it has one month’s worth of living expenses in it–barely. And putting back 20% is reeaaalllyyyy stretching it for us in this season. All I can do is try right.

I just want to encourage you about the funding for college. Years ago, as a freshman in high school, I was just SO sure that the Lord wanted me to go to the sweet little college thirty minutes from home, which we’d driven past on the way to the beach for a camping trip. I shared that “knowing” with my mom and said “someday I’m going to college there!” I said that many more times over the next four years. My parents encouraged me to keep my options open – families like ours didn’t go to private colleges, too expensive, state school was fine, etc. And I would always say, God didn’t put that desire in my heart so I’d go to our state college. I persevered and my folks did the paperwork and, lo and behold, the financing and work/study opportunities came through. Keep praying and keep believing! I truly believe God places opportunities like yours in our path to help us grow the believing muscles. Can’t wait to hear about your victory! Amen!!

Thank you so much Liz! Chris and I just had the talk again about this school is out of our financial league, but the atmosphere…And I know God can use this to strengthen our believing muscles. I even know, He may choose to take all 4 years to strengthen those muscles…but it’s still scary to stand here looking out at.

I hear that! Totally scary! I’ll be praying with you and watching excitedly to see how God works through this. Because we know the end result will be just right for you, and will honor HIM! <3
