Welcome to my weekly Daybook post here at The Littlest Way. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading, listening to, eating, cleaning and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I’m praying for Chris.
Pondering…
I’m pondering this blog as a hobby and business.
Listening to…
Maximilian is in the kitchen loading the silverware, Lucy the dog barking and Leo telling someone “stop.” Musically I’m listening to Advent At Ephesus (Benedictines Of Mary, Queen Of Apostles). Girls, you must. That is all.
Reading…
My large print Bible
Mother Love
I was praying through some of the prayers at Mass and was struck by these words in the prayer titled, “Prayer to Some Special Patrons of Christian Mothers,” “St. Anne, pious and diligent wife…”
Bible Journaling…
I was hesitant for a long time to order a Bible Journaling kit from Illustrated Faith. What a mistake! I have loved every single kit I’ve used so far. Right now I’m using the Christmas Bible journaling kit. Here’s the thing, I could not buy all the products in the kit cheaper if I purchased them separately, plus I’d have to put items together that complimented each other, etc. If you are wanting to try Bible journaling, a kit is totally the way to go. It has everything you need in one box dropped at your door. There is not an easier or less expensive way to get started. I think the kids and I are going to use the Christmas Bible journaling kit to make some pretty gift tags and homemade cards.
**Dayspring just turned on their coupon for 30% off site-wide Black Friday Sale. Use code FRIDAY16 at checkout. Expires Sunday 11/27.
Around the House…
I transitioned Summer for Winter clothes. Chris was here for it, I usually do this when he’s gone. He now understands, lol! Maximilian has clothes upon clothes while Luke is practically clothes-less! And everything I pulled out of the bucket Leo wanted. We have a trashbag full of clothes to give to a family at church, half a bag to give to Catholic Charities and a few items to be trashed.
In the Kitchen…
Luke got a deer this weekend so we will soon have Venison! It’s been almost a year and we’ve missed it. First up, Frito Chili Pie.
Diffusing
This weekend I started diffusing Edens Garden Stress Relief Essential Oil with Bergamot, Patchouli, Blood Orange, Ylang Ylang & Grapefruit I take back everything I thought about all the crazy ladies and their essential oils. I am a firm believer now. Last week Leo had that raspy, almost need a breathing treatment cough. I did my usual and put Vicks on the bottom of his feet, covered them with socks and put him in bed. Around 3am he woke up coughing and restless. I was getting ready to go get the nebulizer but before I did, I put a drop of Fighting Five on his ankle. Within minutes he was sound asleep and slept the rest of the night. It was so noticeable Chris–even more skeptical than I am–remarked the next morning about how quickly it worked.
A Great Blog Post
God’s Special Weapon Against Evil: Spiritual Mothers
“The lesson for spiritual mothers: the more we reflect the heart of Mary, the more God can use us to spiritually call forth from men the masculine ideal of Christ-like spiritual fatherhood.”
The Littlest Way
My sister is going to start helping me out here at The Littlest Way. First up, she’s updating the St. Andrew novena printable. I should have that ready this week so be watching for it. In the meantime, here’s my St. Andrew Novena posts from 2015 and 2014. I’m also getting ready to work on the navigation and menus to make it easier to find things.
Our Domestic Church…
According to the Traditional calendar, today is the Feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Tuesday is the Feast of St. Cecilia. St. Cecelia is the patron of musicians. Tuesday would be a great day to put on some beautiful music and have an afternoon tea party. I really like this section of the Daybook because it reminds me living liturgically doesn’t have to be hard or expensive.
Saving Money…
This weekend I did a little online shopping and used ebates for the first time. So easy! I purchased something I was planning on purchasing anyway and made 75¢. And um, still preaching the budget…budget…budget song to myself.

Yay Katie! I know you’ll love it. It balances the right amount of meditation and practical application without being overwhelming. I would love to hear from you after you get into it a bit.
