Welcome to the Daybook. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
Y’all, what am I not praying for? We traveled with friends this soccer weekend. My friend loves to watch Fox News and even though a more conservative news source, wow! There’s a lot of news and I can’t really say being in the loop of what’s going on in the world is doing me any favors. There’s a lot of people that need a lot of prayer in this world!
Pondering…
Again, I watched more news coverage this weekend than I have in a long time. I probably won’t make that mistake again. And on another note, we ate dinner in downtown Little Rock that had about a dozen televisions tuned to sports and two little ones on the inauguration ceremonies. We sat down and ordered our food and just before President and Mrs. Trump were going to attend their first Inaugural Ball, they changed the channel. We asked them to turn it back–honestly, we wanted to see what Melania Trump and Mrs. Pence were wearing. The restaurant refused, saying it was too controversial. Really? We live in America and cannot watch our own president dance his first dance?! It was so ridiculous it was hilarious!
Listening to…
Boys wrestling, the washer and dryer running, Veronica pull in on our gravel drive.
Reading…
The New Jerusalem Bible, Reader’s Edition
Over the weekend I finished a blogging book that was not on my over-eager, ultra-ambitious reading list for this year.

Around the House…
I had a plan to paint the living room this month but some expenses came up so painting has been bumped to February.
In the Kitchen…
Bridget is making chocolate chip cookies for everyone right now. I need to make ahead some yummy Trim Healthy Mama snacks for myself.
Diffusing
I need to thoroughly clean my diffuser. I try to do this frequently. Although I didn’t diffuse them, we took Peppermint, Lavender, and Lemon with us on our trip.
A Great Blog Post
TO MY SISTERS WHO MARCHED ON WASHINGTON
“It is the most clever and effective tactic hell has coughed up since that business in Eden, to turn a mother against her child, and to turn women against their own femininity. And of course, – of course – the Enemy would seek to desiccate the very source of our salvation, the openness of spirit and the willingness of heart and the heroic bravery of a young woman to step boldly into the plan of salvation history, opening her womb to receive the gift of Life itself.”
The Littlest Way
Last week was a quiet week around here. The whole house was just getting over being sick, a surpise visit from Bernadette, and Veronica and I getting ready to leave for the weekend.
Our Domestic Church…
Next Sunday is the Feast of St. Francis de Sales. His writings are some of my favorites! He’s just down to earth and just theological enough for a tired momma brain to understand and ponder. Here are some of my favorite St. Francis de Sales books
Saving Money…
The last couple of times we’ve had to go out of town for soccer, we’ve shared expenses with some friends of ours. Their daughter and Veronica are the same age, play on different teams but still end up at some of the same places.

First, let me say Little Rock is beautiful! Second, Whiskey Burger in the downtown/River area. I could understand if hadn’t been on the station and we walked in asking for them to turn it on, but it was already on and staye on for a good 15-20 minutes while we were in there before they changed it.

Beautiful reflections Jenny. Especially the Psalm journaling.
