Daily Affirmations and Prayer Journaling
I spent some time last week working on another module from Simplified Organization. In this one, I identified my roles, described what I would be like if I faithfully lived these roles and then composed “vocations statements.” As I was working on my prayer journal Sunday, I realized these vocation statements also make perfect daily affirmations.

I know quite a few stories, lessons or verses in the Bible, but when I need to recall them quickly, well, I can’t. I can sometimes give a general, “It’s in one of the Gospels.” Or, “It’s on a page with some green and yellow highlighting.” Umm, that doesn’t always get me where I want to go and especially not very quickly. Hi, I’m Jenny and I’m addicted to pretty journals, pens, highlighters and Pins featuring colorful scripture journals. I want to journal Bible quotes…but I can’t. It’s not that I don’t try–believe me I do. It’s not that I don’t have the right tools–believe me I do. Ahem, I visit office supply stores and the school supply aisle like some women seek out good chocolate or great shoes. I think it’s my perfectionist tendencies. Yep, I think my inner perfect–who my husband wishes would show herself useful around the house–that keeps me from journaling inspiring Bible quotes. Ever wanted a peak into my mind?
