Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::my brother asking me for a favor
::friends who speak life
::Veronica home from college for Christmas
::family traditions
::our Christmas tree
::tweaking a Trim Healthy Mama cookie recipe
::essential oils
::hot baths
Praying…
Chris and I started another 63-day rosary novena. The last one was hard. The spiritual warfare was obvious. The prayer was eventually answered…and then…So we start again.
Pondering…
All the things. I wish I could stop pondering some of the things, some of the time.
Listening to…
Children are playing in the living room right now, someone is cleaning up the kitchen and someone else is taking a bath.
Reading…
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day. I am days away from finishing reading the entire Bible in one year!!!
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
* I’ve written an ebook to guide you through the whys and hows to get started with Bible Journaling, Bible Journaling Tips, Inspiration and Permission, and to encourage and inspire you in your Bible journaling!
Bible Journaling…
I keep meaning to take pictures of some Bible journaling/verse mapping I’ve done in the Book of Luke but haven’t gotten around to it. Maybe tomorrow? I used the Inspire Catholic Journaling Bible.
Around the House…
The tree is up, which I love. Except for when I’m like, “That’s just what this room was missing, a six-foot tall tree right in the middle of it.”
In the Kitchen…
I think I’ve mentioned this before but lately, I’ve been dumping a bag of frozen chicken breasts in my crock pot and then shredding it up in my Kitchen Aid mixer and then I portion it out into bags for quick easy, meals. Tonight, Chris and the kids had chicken sandwiches with tater-tots. I had cauliflower tater tots with my shredded chicken on top, with melted cheese and bacon bits…YUM!

Self Care
Veronica was home less than 24 hours and started feeling sniffly and sneezy. She said she thought her body was like, “Ok, finals are over, now we can get sick.” We’ve been oiling that girl up–Thieves in her hot bath, Thieves on the bottom of her feet, Raven on her chest. I also made up a roller bottle of Lemongrass and Copaiba to apply to her injured ankle.
If you follow me on Instagram, you know last week I had a pinched nerve in my back…OUCH! That pain was no joke! Day 1 I used Panaway on it. I didn’t really notice a difference, other than Chris said I smelled like an old lady! Day 2 I used Panaway with Copaiba and WOW! It was night and day difference. The Copaiba worked as a magnifier to enhance the benefits of the Panaway.
I’m going to start some goal setting posts, or maybe just mini-posts here on the How to Live the Little Way Monday posts. Either way, I think the accountability will be great for me in working toward my goals. I purchased a Recollections Planner: Goal Setting because I loved the format of setting the goals and keeping track of the goals. I’ve written before about how much I love the Recollections Planner. It has all the things the more expensive planners do, for about half the price.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I sign up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)
The Littlest Way
Let me just say, I love this place where we come together in the noisy, world, wide web.
Our Domestic Church…
We just celebrated Gaudete Sunday. Rejoice Sunday! This is the Sunday we decorate our Christmas tree. I love the way Advent slowly builds towards the birth of Jesus. And then we begin to celebrate Christmas!
Saving Money…
I feel like this is an area I struggle with. I feel like I either need to get it together or stop listing it as a topic each week.
Captured…

This struck a chord with me, Jenny. I guess it’s just this season of motherhood for me.

Let me echo that I also love this space. Thank you! And I also have cheeks that hide my eyes when I smile. I was told, it isn’t me laughing if my eyes aren’t squinty. This is You and keep letting pictures of you be taken. We may not “like” them but those that love us DO. Happy Advent and Blessed Christmas Season to you and yours!
