Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…

Praying…
My father-in-love has some medical testing this week, please keep him your prayers. He’s 88 and still going strong, but these tests are to confirm the extent of a recent diagnosis.
Pondering…
James 1:3-4, “For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”
Listening to…
Right now Maximilian and Leo are at the table coloring an army man page. I have a little bit of a headache today so I’m trying not to listen to too much of anything.
Reading…
The One Year Bible – Catholic: NLT
This is my “quantity” Bible to make sure I get the Word inside me each and every day.
Catholic Journaling Bible
This is my study Bible.
I have two books I need to start reading, The Eight Doors of the Kingdom: Meditations on the Beatitudes by one of my favorite authors, Jaques Philippe and Little Book of Holy Gratitude by Fr. Frederick Faber.

The new Illustrated Faith is out and it is so stinking cute, “Camp Revival”
I’ve cleaned my bedroom, closet and dusting shelves included. Next up is probably the living room and dusting the shelves. The garage desperately needs cleaned but we can’t do that until Veronica leaves for college.
In the Kitchen…
How many times have I said this, I just get lazy. No, I haven’t said that although I’ve implied it. What I frequently say is, “I need to get back on Trim Healthy Mama.” It’s not that it’s hard or not sustainable, it’s just that I’ve got 20 years of momma cooking under my belt and sometimes I just want to feed everyone, myself included, cereal. And some days it’s not even the cooking, it’s the planning and grocery shopping.

Self Care
I found a new diffuser blend that I love: Lemon, Eucalyptus, and Tea Tree. It smells wonderful!
(I purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. If you’re not an Amazon Prime member with FREE shipping, Edens Garden has FREE shipping all the time in the US.)

Our August Online Bible Study starts Wednesday! I am so so pleased with how well July went and am happy to hear the friends who joined say the same thing! Enrollment is only open until tomorrow so if you want in this month’s study now is the time!
Our Domestic Church…
I found these lovely and totally doable printables from Real Life at Home.
Saving Money…
My blogging friend Jessi recently shared how her car needed a huge repair. Well, thankfully her husband can do the work so it went from huge to big, like from $5K to $500ish. But what I liked that she shared was that they have an automotive fund that they automatically draft money into each month–they never see the money but it’s there for car repairs, tires, oil chages, etc.

Jenny, I also use lemon, eucalyptus and tea tree. And one of my favorites of all time is bergamot with a little orange citrus (or lemon).
Jenny says
Oooo, I’m not sure I’ve smelled bergamot?

Thanks for recommending the monthly Catholic family activities printables from my site! I appreciate it!
Jenny says
I was so happy to find them! I printed all of them off to put in a binder for easy reference through the year.
