Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I was so overwhelmed at Mass over the weekend that I started crying after communion. I was overwhelmed at the goodness of God coming to me in Holy Communion and at the same time, sorrow and grief for people living separated from that gift of God Himself.
Today is the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. We sought our Lady’s heavenly intercession in her title of Our Lady of Lourdes as well as our family and friend’s earthly intercession to move here to the small farm 18 years ago! We also named our first-born baby girl after St. Bernadette, so it’s a special day for our family.
Pondering…
Veronica was talking this weekend about the influence the five people you spend most of your time with have on your life. Good, true, and important stuff.

Around the House…
Weekend recovery. And, I feel this deep-seated urge to walk through with two trash bags: “Donate” and “Trash” so look out family!
In the Kitchen…
Well, I’ve mentioned I’ve been having some tummy issues and I had an ultrasound today, so please pray all is well. I keep coming across other people, women my age who are talking about tummy troubles and then mentioning going gluten and dairy free. Hmm??? I don’t eat a lot of gluten anyway, although I’m sure I’d be surprised, because I’ve been following Trim Healthy Mama, even just loosely a number of years. I don’t know? We’ll see what today’s results say and go from there.

Self Care
I am now that lady who travels with oils. Well, to be fair, I have been for a while, but not like I did this weekend. I took LIme so I could make Veronica a homemade Cherry Limeade. I took Digize and Rosemary for tummy stuff, a headache roller bottle in case, Cedarwood to help with sleep and Peace and Calming, etc. I seriously missed my Ningxia, even though only 24 hours; I need the travel pouches.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I sign up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)

Still working on a Lent Devotional for Women which will be offered through our Online Bible Study Community. I’ll offer the Scripture Writing Plan even if you don’t join us in the Bible Study group. I love Lent…until about one week in and then I’m like, “Ack!! Get me outta here! This is hard!” And honestly, the last few months have felt very, very “Lenty.” Sigh.

Lent is coming! Lent is coming!
Saving Money…
I saved my Christmas money to take Veronica and friends to lunch, does that count? Although Chris paid with our debit card and didn’t ask for my cash so maybe it’s still mine to spend? Oh, wait! This is a “saving money” category, lol! We need a food processor, maybe I’ll spend it on that? I know, I should be using the budget somewhere in here right?
