Welcome to How to Live the Little Way. A weekly post here at The Littlest Way where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to, eating, cleaning, and learning. These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life and I want to remember them. My prompts may change depending on season and circumstance.
Thanking God for…
::Chris
::date nights
::turning on the heater–we’re out of firewood, although the cost of propane is ridiculous so I may regret this later
::finally figuring our a planner system that will work for my life (family, home, school, here, oils)
::my sister taking my children ice skating
::helping an overwhelmed, pregnant momma friend clean out her closet, one small step
::my oldest boy turing 15 over the weekend
::sunshine (even when freezing)
Praying…
Good Lord has the world lost its mind?! Like where do I even begin? Of course my husband. And of course, I pray my children will be lights in this dark world. I pray they will live in this world and lead this world closer to Jesus while not becoming just like it.
Pondering…
The emotional energy it takes to be on the internet.
Listening to…
A Little Longer by Jenn Johnson & Bethel Music
Once when I linked to that song here someone mentioned how it made them think of Adoration. I have a goal this year of weekly Adoration.

Bible Journaling…
I posted recently some Bible Journaling or Verse Mapping I did in Luke Chapter 1, Catholic Journaling Bible: Luke 1.
Around the House…
I already mentioned we had to turn on the furnace over the weekend because we ran out of firewood. Chris is hoping maybe we can chop some across the field. We can’t remember the last time we turned on our furnace, we heat with the fireplace. Yes, the house stays chilly, but it saves so much money.
In the Kitchen…
Ugh! For real. How long can I stay in a rut? In addition to the fact I have something going on with my tummy that I keep trying to figure out. I did go to the doctor last week and we’re going to do some tests on my gallbladder but we’re leaning towards some IBS. So stress? Maybe a food trigger? I’m tired of trying to figure it out and I’m tired of there being something to try to figure out. I know. Forgive my whining, please. I know how little this is to some people and I’m sorry for complaining.

Self Care
Here’s what I do know, my tummy is so much better when I faithfully drink my Ningxia Red drink and use Digize or Rosemary on my tummy. Other self-care news, I’ve been doing 10 pushups every day since I fell off my exercise habit the end of last year. I will pick back up my walking and hand weights this week, my planner even says so, lol! And my mind has been a little distracting lately. I need to recommit to my tools to keep it healthy.
(I used to purchase my essential oils from Amazon or Edens Garden instead of a distributor. You can read my thoughts on why here, “Where I’m From…” I’ve since decided I don’t have the time or resources to properly educate myself on using the oils to their fullest potential. That’s why I sign up with Young Living under a former Family Practice Physician.)
The Littlest Way
The new design should be finished any day now. I know I keep saying that.
Our Domestic Church…
January 29th is the Feast of St. Francis de Sales. Have you ever read Introduction to the Devout Life? That was the first spiritual book I read. How about Thy Will Be Done: Letters to Persons in the World? I read that one maybe 20 years ago? I lent it out to someone and it was never returned.
Saving Money…
I just saw that I can order groceries from Aldis and have them delivered. I love the idea of online shopping with them! Online shopping with Walmart saves me at least $100. I’m not a fan of the delivery. I don’t know, I don’t want some possibly strange and definitely unknown person bringing my groceries to my house.

the Intro to Devout Life – my favorite book. Of course, I then ended up a Daughter of St Francis!
Watch out for Aldi. I looked into that, thinking I could do what I do with Walmart, order then pick up. I realized it was delivery – ok, that might be good, then when going through their online store, realized the prices listed were very much higher than what I would pay if I drove 3 miles to the store. I do not know if the final cost if the actual store cost or what is listed online, but I didn’t want to take that chance, so no-go on the delivery at Aldi’s. – and thank you! for introducing me to the pickup feature at Walmart! Love it – I save a ton of money and time and avoid temptation – win, win, win
Blessings, stay warm
