Welcome to my weekly post, Daybook Online Journal. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. I would love to read your Daybook Online Journal, just leave it in the comments section below. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.
Daybook Online Journal: Thinking Out Loud
Thanking God for…
::friends who let us use their swimming pool
::date night with Chris (even if I ate too much and non Trim Healthy Mama and then paid for it later by a stomach ache that sent me to bed…the date was fun)
::fresh mowed grass
::hay bales in the fields (when I grow up I want to be a hay baler)
::Good Girl Moonshine for my belly ache
::a short trip getting to see my brother and his family
Praying…
I am praying for friends for my children. It’s hard as an adult to live and move in this crazy, pagan, secular world…try doing it as a teen or elementary age child. Please join me in prayers for my children and leave a comment or email with your children’s names and I’ll add them to my prayer journal.
Pondering…
Gosh really? My mind seems to be in overdrive lately. I honestly need to stop pondering for a while.
Listening to…
Thinking Out Loud by Ed Sheeran. My favorite lyric is, “Cause honey your soul can never grow old, it’s evergreen. Baby you smile forever in my mind and memory.”
Reading…
My large print Bible
Divine Intimacy: Meditations on the Interior Life for Every Day of the Liturgical Year
Bible Journaling…
Did you catch my post last week Bible Journaling with Children? And this last week, Bible Journaling Tips for the Hesitant was my most popular post.
Around the House…
Can one be a minimalist with seven children? I’d like to give it a go.
In the Kitchen…
I’m revising my Trim Healthy Mama recipe binders. I printed a bunch of recipes from Briana Thomas’ site…Yum! Have you seen, they are also getting ready to release two new books: Trim Healthy Mama Plan: The Easy-Does-It Approach to Vibrant Health and a Slim Waistline and Trim Healthy Mama Cookbook: Eat Up and Slim Down with More Than 350 Healthy Recipes. I’ve already pre-ordered mine.
Saving Money…
Chris is getting some overtime right now so we’re trying to throw every bit of it to paying off our house. “But wait! Jenny, you just mentioned going on a date with Chris. How is that saving money?” First we plan for going on dates and second, we have found that if we don’t plan on that alone time we actually cheat our budget more than if we actually set aside that money. And the time…If I know I’ll have some uninterrupted time alone with Chris, I am less likely to get frustrated when the kids are clamoring for his attention right alongside me.
A Bible Journaling page I created in memory of my grandpa. He was a carpenter, a hard working man who minded his own business.

Please pray for my 13 year old, Hanna, and I will pray for your children as well!
I had to undergo major surgery, colon resection, and my dd is now my shadow, nurse, and maid.

Absolutely! Quick recovery momma!

I love the description of your Grandpa…I’m sure he’s busy looking after you all in Heaven…

Good morning, Jenny! As always, I love your daybook! You can definitely add my children to your prayer journal! Thank you! I agree with your sentiments about our children’s friends. I already feel nervous about that, especially with my older girls. And I also want to attempt minimalism with my family. I think I might be the only one who consciously feels the burden of too much stuff, but I think it adds stress whether we know it or not. I love your THM links! I might give that another try, after my Whole30. And finally, you are smart to budget date night. It seems like a little planning goes a long way, and I’m sure you’re still well ahead in paying off your home. Good for you! Have a blessed week!
