Welcome to my weekly post, Daybook Online Journal. This is a post where I gather all the ordinary things that happen or are happening in my day to day. Things like what I’m reading or listening to…eating and cleaning and learning…These are the small moments that make up my blessed daily life; and I want to remember them. If you blog, please link up below with your Daybook Online Journal post. If you don’t have a blog, no worries, just leave your “post” in the comments. You can use my prompts or make up your own to include items important to you; mine change depending on season and circumstance.

Praying…
I am not praying as much as I should. This is a hard season, things are confusing and tough and I need to be praying more. I have been instructed to begin weekly Adoration with my children due to this season. I will also begin the Auxilium Christianorum prayers.
Pondering…
I am pondering where I have slipped, where I have been to harsh and what I need to do now.
Listening to…
I am listening to the Daughters of Mary.

Around the House…
I am battling sloth and or sticking my head in the sand wishing everything would just go away quietly.
In the Kitchen…
I do on the other hand have a meal plan in place for this week…and it’s a good one. Crock pot meals and Trim Healthy Mama meals because I am just better when I eat this way, and fun summer treats.
Our Domestic Church…
My son celebrated receiving his First Holy Communion yesterday and this coming Sunday will receive the sacrament of Confirmation. We are attending at least one other Mass during the week, of course this week it will be Friday to celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart, and we will begin attending an hour of Adoration. Those outside devotions will naturally infuse and encourage our domestic Church.

God bless your little guy.
I’m thankful for communion last Sunday. It went like this. Unable to get to mass due to the rampant sickness in the house, I was feeling very weak and overwhelmed. Have you ever felt like the ONLY relief from the weight is Adoration? You know, you start off to run an errand and you turn to the tabernacle. If so, you might have experienced locked doors or maybe a toddler who refuses to get out of his seat. God blesses your intention and you experience the peace and order that settles you. Well, I just had to receive our Lord last week. I knew I could not get through the week without him and so I was on my way to get local honey for medicine and quickly pulled into a church that I knew was nearby. I swallowed my pride, knocked on the rectory door and asked the kind priest if he would give me communion. Said toddler would not enter the building so my 12 year old went in when I was finished. On the way out, while saying goodbye, I had the audacity to ask the good father if I could pick a rose from his bountiful bush. That rose sat on my window sill all week as a beautiful reminder of who I received and the strength and peace that I could only get from Him. So powerful.
I’m praying for you during this tough time.

Hi Jenny! I can really relate to your feelings of sloth and sticking your head in the sand. I am feeling the same way. There is so much I want to do, and yet, I feel completely paralyzed! It is a tough place to be. I will pray for you! I was encouraged to return to my weekly Adoration hour, too! I need to find a good time for that … I’m sure it will make a huge difference!

I have yet to make adoration! I would ask, “Why is it so hard to find the time to go to adoration?” But I already know the answers.
