Oh do I have something F-U-N to share today! Let’s call it show and tell day at The Littlest Way. First, as you tell by the title, our patience verse today is Hebrews 10:36, “For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.” Great verse right? But wait until I show you what I did. Those of you who practice the art of Bible journaling will be especially interested. Especially if you do not have a journaling Bible. Ok, let’s get this show and tell Bible quotes about patience post on the road!
Bible Quotes About Patience
I know there are so many of y’all that do not want to journal in your Bible or can’t because your Bible isn’t set up with wide margins. Well, I played around with this patience verse in a Travelers Notebook from Blitsy and I love the results! Not only do I love the results, I love how portable and perfect sized the Travelers Notebook was! This was just the right size I needed to journal through this verse.
I recently decided I like a Travelers Notebook for my Bible and prayer journaling. I don’t know, there’s just something comfortable about the size and space and the portability of it. I like the idea when I finish one I can easily archive it. I also like the idea of having a couple of books for various things housed in a convenient leather notebook.
I also recently decided I was going to try an Illustrated Faith monthly devotional kit. Let me preface this by saying–I have not looked much at the devotional yet. I wanted a cohesive Bible journaling kit put together and shipped to my door. And boy did I get one! Less than five days from order to door! The Washi tape is pretty, the little cards are cute, and the stamps are amazing! I used the flower stamp and the “Lesson” stamp from the “Blessings or Lessons” kit. Oh, and the pretty little “Patience” tab up top is from that same kit.
This is such a great option for Bible journaling–even if you have a journaling Bible. I honestly will be doing more of this. I think one of the reasons I enjoyed this journaling so much was because using the Travelers Notebook took the fear of making a mistake away. It’s not like I was journaling in my “Forever Bible,” it was a pretty, little notebook. I enjoyed working on this verse so much, I went back through some of our other Bible verses about patience and started journaling them! See all the pretty little tabs? These were in that same “Blessings or Lessons” kit. I like that I will eventually have all my patience verses journaled in one place. Ok, enough (for now) about Travelers Notebooks and Illustrated Faith’s Bible journaling kits, let’s talk patience.
I love verses that are clear cut and this one is. This verses from Hebrews states what we need and why. We need endurance and if you’re a Thesaurus girl like me, you’ll know we also need: courage, fortitude, patience, strength, and perseverance. Why? So that we may do the will of God and receive what is promised. So I just sit around “enduring” and then I get what’s been promised? Nope. Remember our verse about patience from Romans 5:4, “…and endurance produces character, and character produces hope” So while I’m enduring, if I’m trying to do it correctly–joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer–I’m working on my character and that character produces hope. And what is hope? “Hope is the virtue by which we firmly trust that God, who is all-powerful and faithful to His promises, will in His mercy give us eternal happiness and the means to obtain it.”
Hm, I will need to spend some time on that last part, “…and the means to obtain it.”
I’d like to know what you think about that–see you in the comments below.
