I’m keeping a running list of thanksgiving–30 Days of Thanksgiving to be exact–for the month of November. I’m forcing myself to remember Thanksgiving is a choice, a way of thinking and a way of life. It’s more than just a day at the end of the month of November. I’m inviting you to please join me. Who cares if it’s already November 10th, jump in anyway! If you blog, leave a link in the comments. If you don’t leave your list in the comments.

I’m sure you’re right! I guess that’s what saints can do! As for me…I’m not quite there yet (not at all!) I can shoo myself out of the way of a rat – does that count???

I’m thankful that I was able to be present when a dear old friend of our community received the Sacrament of the Sick to day and so grateful that there were about 30 people present – so many that some people were standing in the corridor outside.
I’m challenged to be thankful for the two baby rats who fond their way into our house this evening (they are clearing the fields near us, perhaps the rats decided to relocate?…Thank you God: That they are still small! That mum is not with them (or is she???)! That they were not in my bedroom!!!
To end on a happier note – I’m grateful for my community – four women who are great to live and pray with!

Wow. Rats. But on a positive note, when I researched the best rodent type pets, it was rats. They get a bum rap in movies I guess.
This morning I decided that I needed to list more of those not so great things that bring about good.
God bless.

This makes me think of the scripture, “All things work together for good…”

The rats make me think of a Glory Stories CD we have on the life of St Martin de Porres. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but he shooed the rats out of the kitchen without having to trap them or use poison.
